     Cord Meyer zu Bakum was born in Melle (Bakum.)1 He married Anneke Wessling, daughter of Johan Wesselinck and Gese Grevens van Baringdorp, in 1555/56.2,1 He died in 1593/94 in Melle (Bakum). Anneke paid 40 Thaler.3,1

Cord Meyer zu Bakum was the first known Meyer of the farm in Bakum. Since that time members of the family have continually resided on the farm, although not always through the male line. In 2007 a direct descendant (Ridolph Joost) still has a natural chickenfarm there. The Meyers were in order: Johann, Peter Meyer zum Wendischhof (through his wife Grethe), Johann, Rudolf Cappel and Franz Meyer zu Ribbentrop (through their wife Anna Maria), Peter, Balts Hinrich, Franz Henrich, Johann Caspar, Mathias Rudolf Bolte (through his wife Clara, who was first married to Johann Caspar), Carl Justus, Rudolf August, Erich, Annegret, and Rudolf Joost.6,1
